The race is organised by our running club with lots of volunteers helping. This keeps our race costs down so you can run at an affordable race fee, plus it also helps us give back to charity so we are very pleased to announce that we are donating profits from this year's race to the following local charities and organisations.
The Blackmore Vale Lions • Sturminster Newton High School • The Exchange • Sturminster Newton Amateur Boxing Club • The Vale Pantry • Sturminster Newton Expedition Group • Dorset Road Race League • The Wessex Band and RunBlandford
Thank you to all our volunteers and all of you who ran this year, we look forward to seeing you next year on Sunday 3rd August 2025 – so save the date and we will let you know when the race will be open for you to enter through Race Timing Solutions
Well done everyone, hope you enjoyed the race. We had 360 entries, with 319 finishers in the half marathon and a fantastic turnout for our 5K with 62 runners this year.
Brilliant winning times of 1:12:12 in the half by Thomas Corbin of Poole AC. The ladies race was won by Vicki Ingham of Poole Runners in a time of 1:22:41.
The 5K was won by Ed Rees in 18:18 and the first lady over the line was Ayla Chard in 20:35.
A big thank you to Ruby Else-White, our local European Youth Boxing Champion, who started both the races.
Brilliant news, Ruby is now the World U19 Champion!
Another big thank you to Race Timing Solutions who organised our race entries and results this year, plus also made our race medals and trophies.
Charles Whitton and his team were out on the course taking photos of you running around, view this year's photos:

That was very good coffee, served by Tim and Frankie from the Really Tiny Coffee Co.
Thank you to Lindsey for providing some lovely post food for us all
Hope you managed to sample a pint served by Peter after you ran your half
Did you enjoy an ice cream while you waited for the runners to finish the race?
All proceeds from your massage with Pete was donated to Julia's House
A lot of you kindly donated to our new project with the Vale Pantry, helping others get into running
Thank you
This year the race was started by Ruby Else-White, who is our local European Youth Boxing Champion and World No.2.
After sending you on your way, she joined a few other members of the boxing club and helped to hand out water at a water station
While you were running we entertained the children with fun races on the school field, and afterwards they all enjoyed a free ice cream from Fat Sam's Ice Cream van
