The Dorset Doddlers Running Club have been running around in circles since 1983. The club was originally formed by a small group of runners who had just completed their first London Marathon and now has over 100 members.
We organise 4 main races throughout the year, and also support other races. These include the Blackmore Vale half Marathon, the Marnhull 12k, TV10 and the Gold Hill 10k.
We also run a Couch to 5K course, so if you are keen to run and need help, come and join us.
This picturesque event is along country lanes through a collection of north Dorset villages, including a full marathon (Dorset Country Championship Race and a DRRL race) plus a very popular relay for teams of 4 along the same route as the marathon.
Starting at Tollard Royal Pond, the route broadly follows the ancient and beautiful Wessex Ridgeway to Uplyme, near Lyme Regis.
100km in 12 legs of 4-8 miles each, with teams of 2-6 runners, each runner must complete at least 1 leg. Cut off times will be in place to ensure all runners are finished by 7pm.
The Stickler (now in its 29th year) is a 10.1 mile multi terrain running race. It involves over 1500ft of gruelling climbing, beginning with the infamous ’Stickle Path’. Runners ascend three locally renowned peaks along the beautiful Stour Valley: Okeford Beacon, Hod Hill and Hambledon. The course is mostly on gravel tracks with some stretches on tarmac and grass.
